The brakes squeaked badly and the car turned to the left when the brakes were applied. The rear Hartford shock absorbers had stiffened and the front ones slackened. We increased the [handwritten above 'braking': balancing] braking to the side and cross steering tubes rebedded the brakes, adjusted the Hartford Shock absorbers to 60 to 70 lbs, after this the car was comfortable to drive at 88 miles per hour. It seems a pity these parts get out of adjustment so soon. This car is a persistently bad one for brake squeaks and groans. It was out of commission for a day during the Salon here whilst we tried to cure the squeaks but we never succeeded. [Handwritten] Do we know of any definite cure Hm.{Capt. W.
