6. B. IV.

During yesterday afternoon's run with P.Rose and A.Gardiner in charge, an accident occurred, which has stopped the mileage until a thorough examination is made.

From Gardiner's report who was driving, the accident was caused through a car coming on to the road from the right. In trying to avoid the car and pass it on the correct side, our car got into a skid, went into a ditch on the side of the road and over turned. The front wing of the French car was hit by our car, and damaged.

The damage to 6.B.IV. as far as can be ascertained at present is as follows:-

Radiator crushed over sideways.
Bonnet torn off from Dashboard, breaking anchorage out of dashboard.
One radiator support slightly bent.
Front Axle, offside transverse lean of pivot leaning inwards due to neck of axle bending.
Offside front wing crumpled up.
N.S. & O.S. rear wings crumpled up.
Front offside edge top of body slightly damaged.
Offside rear wheel, five spokes broken.
Rear axle appears to have gone approximately 1/4 inch out of line.
Front of air silencer dinted.

After attention to the offside front wing and radiator, the car was able to return to the garage under its own power.

The engine, steering, and Gearbox, do not appear to be damaged. P.Rose was bruised on shoulders and legs otherwise no damage. Gardiner has not complained of any bruises.
