Referring to our EPC1/T12.8.21, describing the vibration test of standard battery, one of the 12XRE C.A.V. Willard batteries has now been put through this test, whilst undergoing several charges and discharges, the ampere hour capacities of which have been tabulated as follows :- CHARGE (at 6 amps DISCHARGE approx) No. | Hrs. | Amp.hours. | Hrs. | Average | Amp. | | | | amps. | hours. ------------------------------------------------------ 1 | 25½ | 153 | 5½ | 10.4 | 56 2 | 19 | 114 | 4½ | 10.5 | 50 3 | 12¼ | 73.5 | 4½ | 10.5 | 51 4 | 17¼ | 103.75 | 5 | 10.5 | 52.5 5 | 33 | 198 | 4½ | 10.5 | 48.5 6 | 22⅞ | 137.25 | 5 | 10.5 | 52.5 7 | 35⅞ | 215.25 | 4½ | 10.4 | 45.5 8 | 25⅞ | 153.25 | 4½ | 10.4 | 48 As in the previous case, the capacity of the battery is not materially affected by this treatment. This is shown by the figures tabulated, and also by the fact that subsequently the battery was found to be able to give 6 amperes discharge for 10 hours when standing.
