re. 20/25 HP. Centre Light Switch and Engine Starter.

There is a point on 18-G-4 car which I did not mention in my report, EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}10/H28.12.31. but which was brought forward by Mr W. on previous Experimental cars.

There is always the possibility, in fact it invariably happens until the driver gets used to the car, of his pressing the engine starter lever, mistaking it for the centre light switch. This takes place in spite of the centre light switch having been made fairly clear of the starter lever.

I still therefore press the suggestion that the starter lever should be moved. Could a press button scheme be standardised for the instrument board fixing, similarly as the Phantom II. and which has been fixed on one or two cars to customers' requirements, and as far as we know, has given every satisfaction.

This has been put up with the S.O. (scheme got out, and a new switch is being gone into)
