CHASSIS. -2- Wors/CR.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}12.4.33. MINUTE 3. WOODHEAD ROAD SPRINGS. LATEST POSITION AT 12.4.33. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} states that 10,000 miles on Bentley with these springs has now been completed, and further states these springs will certainly be standardised for Peregrine and Bentley. 18-G4 is shortly going to France fitted with Woodhead Springs, and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} recommends that further springs ordered for the 25 H.P. should be Woodhead. Satisfactory Bump tests have been carried out, and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} proposes issuing a Standardisation Sheet. MINUTE 4. BENSPORT GENERALLY. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said 2nd car be ready Easter. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} states this car will be on the road to-morrow, the 13th, complete with body. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said next car would have modified floorboards. Modifications agreed for incorporation:- 1. Plain bearings to timing gears in place of ball bearings. Crankcase for plain bearing timing gears has been instructed. 2. Close ratio gearbox. In the hands of Experimental Dept., and we are following this up. 3. Modifications to brake gear so as to reduce risk of fouling on bad roads. Instrument Patch. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} approved) drawing RR. Sch.355. -do- Circlip. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} stated he could put up the strength of the circlip and this should cure the trouble, and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said he would try out buttons in the ends of the piston pins. We are in touch with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} on this matter. Higher Axle Ratio. 3 different ratios to be in hand. In the hands of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We are following this up.
