K.L.G. Sparking Plugs.

We have examined the six special plugs K.L.G.FE.30XC. They have completed 2900 miles in 36-EX, three in an inlet position and three in an exhaust.

These plugs were fitted with a special central electrode which it was hoped would cure the trouble previously experienced i.e. opening up of the spark gap.

We tried the car before taking out the plugs and there was a misfire on A distributor (exhaust plugs). This was cured by fitting standard plugs at .020".

The spark gaps varied from .035" to .045" while one of the plugs had cracked insulation.

The plugs have been returned to Wst. for his inspection and report.

We have also replaced the K.L.G.E.27 in 1.B.IV with a new set of FLB.30X.

The E.27 have run 3951 miles.

The central electrode and earth of one of the plugs had almost burnt away while the others are in a fair condition.

The gaps vary from .030" to .035".
