Y6115 Extract from report on 18-GIV at 10,000 miles dated 30.1.31. . X.4478. LUCAS WINDSCREEN WIPER. As previously reported the wiper failed early in the test through the failure of the teeth on the driving spindle. A new wiper was fitted and gave trouble through the shorting of the cable where it was attached to the windscreen by clips. The shorting caused a smouldering of the lining and had it occurred during the night time serious consequences may have resulted. The wiring of the wiper should be in a circuit with a fuse and not direct as was in this case. | ||
