Dear Sirs,

We have just noticed that on the latest version of your bisector for the Myth brakes FR.649, the projection of the stud ends from the shoe centre line is increased from a dimensioned 15/16" on the earlier drawing to a scaled figure of 1.025 on the later one.

This increase has the effect of adding appreciable extra metal to our drums and, in addition, implies a lot of alteration to the work we have already done on this job. Is this increase on your part absolutely necessary? If you can bring the figure down to say .950 to .975, our present design can go through without alteration, otherwise, as I said, a number of alterations will require making, principally to drums and wheels.

I am holding up detailing on the drums until I hear from you about this, and the front carrier plate is also held up until I get your revised drawing of the wheel cylinder with metal boots. I will, however, endeavour to get the details done and sent to you as soon as possible after getting your reply and the information required.

Yours faithfully,

Chassis Design Dept.
