| -2- E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 2/W. 9.10.36. The front wings are shown on LdC.5262, Sheets 1 and 2. Should any other drawing such as LdC.5187, not agree with the wing shape shown on this front wing drawing LdC.5262, it is this latter drawing which is the latest and which should be worked to. The side spare wheel carrier shown on LdC.5176 Sheets 1 and 2, should have its arms reproduced in wood on the dummy chassis. The front apron for the dummy chassis we would like you to make up yourselves in sheet aluminium, and this apron is shown on LdC.5279. It may be supported by any suitable wooden structure from the end of the dummy frame, but the apron itself should be exactly to drawing because to it have to be attached the front ends of the front wings. We would be glad if you would go ahead with this mock-up of the front end of the car, and as previously stated make the dummy chassis detachable in two sections, the division occurring at the dashboard. Referring to the body itself we are sending you herewith a print of LdC.5185 which shows a quarter-scale arrangement of a 'C' type steering enclosed limousine on the 24.8.6 type chassis; the car you are building only differs in that it has 'E' steering and a rising division. We send you this drawing as it shows you how the base of the body may be constructed to clear the chassis features, and also the clearances for the seat boards, floor and foot wells. This drawing also serves as a general arrangement and key drawing to all the other drawings which you have received. On LdC.5301 we show the rear bumper fixing, and on LdC.5267 the rear bumper. In order to get these on the mock-up, we are arranging to supply you with a bumper. We would be glad if you would arrange for a suitable bracket on your dummy chassis so that it may be carried in the position shown on these drawings. | ||
