To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X8520 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG26.5.26. HYDRAULIC DAMPERS. X235 X8520 With reference to your N.sch.2186. While we are altering the pattern to accommodate the larger castellated nut on the bolt, we should like to have incorporated the cap held on by 4 studs instead of the present 2. The reason for this is that with the present cap we have a certain amount of trouble with leakage unless these are very carefully fitted, due to the distance between the studs. As the studs will go further out in the new pattern, our difficulty will be increased. You will recollect that you sent your scheme with a smaller piston through showing 4 studs. If you consider that you could make this modification, we should be obliged if you could let us have it through as soon as possible so that we may get the patterns on the move.
