Dear Rothes,

Thank you for your letter of the 4th December. I will do what I can to make sure that Chassis No. B-150-DG is a good car.

I am sorry you did not get R.{Sir Henry Royce} Summers' order, but he is notoriously a difficult person to deal with. He certainly has not lost much money on the changeover.

The Bentley on which we are going to test those new tyres of yours will not get to France for another three weeks or so, so that we shall not start tests until about the New Year.

On certain Bentley cars to be used under Colonial conditions we are considering raising the car slightly by fitting larger tyres to the existing rims, or if this is not feasible, fitting larger wheels. We should be glad to know what sizes of tyre you have available which will enable us to do this.

I hope your car is continuing to give satisfaction after its visit to the Works.
