CARBURETTERS.

unions for drains had stripped

No. 1 Carburetter
Main jet spring E.59781 worn on outer diameter of coils - this has been rejected. Slight wear occurs on seating of float needle.
Condition of Carburetter otherwise good.

No. 2 Carburetter
Float needle slightly worn on seating.
Condition otherwise good.

No. 3 Carburetter
Several teeth of mixture control pinion E.85884 are heavily worn and pinion has therefore been rejected. Wear has also taken place on seating of float needle to a small degree.
Carburetter otherwise good.

No. 4 Carburetter
Condition as No. 3 Carburetter. In addition there is a slight surface crack at bottom of piston rod guide.
Condition otherwise good.

NOTE - All engine units not mentioned above were found to be in satisfactory condition.

FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH

FLYWHEEL (Starter Ring G.82606) Firths A.H.G. 100-ton type Air hardened Nickel-Chrome Steel.
All teeth are damaged on side face due to starter motor pinion.

CLUTCH SPRINGS (G.82591)
All springs are worn on outer diameter of coils, due to being tight in containers and have therefore been rejected.

CLUTCH PRESSURE RING (G.82609)
The friction face of the pressure ring is badly distorted and there are numerous surface cracks in the vicinity of the withdrawal lugs as shown by the attached sketch.

CLUTCH DRIVING SHAFT.
Hard marking, fidgetting and plucking is evident to a marked degree on bearing, locating and retaining nut sections respectively.
