To Mr. [redacted] from Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to [redacted] +4118 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 6/LG19.3.26. Re. Mr. Sutcliffe Pyman. 20 HP. GLK.66. Hr6/GM16.3.26. We do not think from the amount of information supplied there is any evidence that the design is at fault. The type of gland used on the water pump is designed specially to prevent the grease working out. It is a double gland and the grease is fed into the centre. We think the possible explanation of Mr. Pyman's complaint is that he has over-lubricated the gland. Our Instruction Book gives that the lubricator should have one turn every 500 miles. We cannot believe that there would be any trouble if this is adhered to. In any case, the fault in its present state should be dealt with by one of the Depots. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
