Estonia.. ESTONIAN FUEL. As mentioned in the reports on Estonian visit, we have just received the two 50-gallon drums of Estonian fuel promised us by the Estonian Government. Samples have been taken from each of the drums and we are sending them to Banks in London for them to get them knock tested and give us the requisite mixtures of alcohol and lead or benzol, alcohol, and lead necessary to bring the octane rating up to 76. When the results of the London tests are available could you please arrange to give these fuels a run on an engine and let us have your opinion regarding setting the mixture control, ignition advance, and any other points which may arise so that we shall be in a position to recommend definitely some mixture to the Estonians. We think it is in our own interest that we provide them with the necessary information to ensure our engines running under the best possible conditions. Lr{Mr Ellor}/Dor.{Mr Dorey} | ||
