Test runs at Derby. Roads good. Fine and dry. Stopped owing to No. 11 tappet seizing. This was released by slight blow with mallet and thereafter gave no further trouble. Is now being examined. Steering stiffened up seriously during run out but became free during 1 1/4 hours rest at lunch. It is always stiff after 100 miles running. This is a serious fault. Drivers CWB. and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Otherwise car running well. The 145 miles from London to Derby was done at average of 37.8 m.p.h. (Sgd.) CWB. | ||
