TRANSLATION OF LETTER DATED AUGUST 9th.1924. FROM MONSIEUR MAURICE REVERDIN, 12.QUAI DES EAUX-VIVES, GENEVA. Dear Sirs, re. Car 69-H-5. (1) I duly received your letter of the 26th. ult.m which you state having duly noted that my car overheats, which is also the case for other 20-HP and 40/50 HP. cars) according to several other owners whom I have questioned). (2) You also regret that through your fault (although you were formally opposed to the spare wheel being carried on the off-side) my spare wheel comes unfastened and remains on the road. (3) You inform me that your Works are closed for the annual summer holidays (this is the limit!) and that no complaints can be dealt with before August 7th. I really think it too bad that you can find no other answer to give me, especially as my car is covered by a three years' guarantee and has never worked well. If you wish to know my opinion, and I am certain you know this as well as I do :- The 20-HP Rolls-Royce will always overheat unless the engine is altered to a high compression engine (you have done this doe some of your 40/50 HP. cars) and fully louvred bonnets are provided. I would be very glad to sell this car. Yours etc..... | ||
