45540 Hotel de France, Chateauroux. Indre. France. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}3/Crn.27.8.25. To: "Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}" From: G.W.Hancock. Chassis 9 G.III. In answer to your letter dated 24th inst, re choke petrol filters or stopped jets, we examine and clean, if necessary, filters and float chamber every 2,500 miles. On our last 10,000 miles with the 20 HP., we had occasion to report sand in float chamber on three occasions. This caused the carburetter to be erratic in its action. We have not had any occasion of a stopped jet. The filters, when examined, have had a small amount of dirt and fluff on sage, but this has not caused any trouble. Our last examination on this test of the 20 HP. - the filter and float chamber were perfectly clean. The petrol for the 20 HP. is filtered, as we fill this car in our own garage. The R.A.C. used to be filled up on the road, the petrol then not being filtered. On the R.A.C. we had one occasion when we were held up by water in the carburetter. G.W.Hancock. | ||
