Messrs.Rolls-Royce,Ltd., Date 13.6.28. Page 2 of the screw holes of the gauge fixing, taken from the writer's car, and this will suffice,if there has been no alteration in the design since this chassis (G.C.K.72) was made. to yourselves We believe that we supplied one 20 h.p. gauge against a special order earlier in the year. This was supplied with the unit and fixing intended to to nearer the centre of the tank, and was made up as shown on print K-S.52-S enclosed. We conclude from your remarks, however, that this is not the way in which you wish to treat the matter at the present time, but that the fixing of the gauge is to be adapted to the existing gauge hole, and the overflow pipe to be brought back into your vent, or alternatively, bent downwards and forwards, so that the surplus is run overboard and not on to the painted surface of the tank. Unless we hear to the contrary, we shall put in hand a complete set on the lines indicated, as shown on print K-S.51-S, incorporating Sprengel unit, new type dash instrument to accomodate the high side filler, and send it to you at the very earliest possible moment for trial. Assuring you at all times of our best attention, Yours faithfully, H.M.HOBSON,Ltd., T.P.Searight Joint Managing Director. | ||
