SILVER WRAITH, B.50. & B.160. ----------------------- In view of the heavy die cost involved in an all-steel body programme for B.50, by Briggs Bodies, we have endeavoured to formulate a project whereby a certain percentage of the pressings can be used to produce bodies for Silver Wraith and B.160. Actually there are two projects, shewn on PD.230 herewith. Project No.1. envisages dies for a Six light 'saloon for B.50 from which can be produced a similar Four light body by deleting the quarter light and making a wider rear door. The project provides two similar bodies for Silver Wraith by adding 3" into the cantrails etc. and adding to the rear quarter. The doors are those for the B.50 Four light saloon. The project also includes a body for B.160 by taking 6.000" from the cantrails etc. and using the original doors of the B.50 Six light saloon. Project No.2. is based upon the supposition that a Six light body will not be the type which will sell on our class of car, and that we can therefore make the design of the Four door Four light saloon of B.50 of the best appearance we know. The pressings of this body we suggest can be used to produce bodies for the other two chassis as in the previous project. A similar Four light saloon for Silver Wraith is made by adding 3" to the cantrails etc. and a wider rear door. Likewise a similar body for B.160 is produced by reducing the length of the cantrails etc. 6" and two new doors. All of the XXXXXX bodies have a common rear quarter and boot.
