Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} X4450 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/T1.10.26. NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I STEERING. With reference to Hml3/W30.9.26. we are somewhat surprised at the reports on 1500 lb. springs breaking frequently, because we have recently completed a 10,000 mile test without any trouble. The reduction of stress of these springs, however, is under consideration and a new design is being got out to eliminate the trouble.
