BENSPORT(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley) GEAR RATIOS. A road test of the second Bentley has shown that the 3rd. gear is too high. In order to get a ratio between that of this car and the 20/25 box, we suggest altering the constant mesh ratio from the Bentley figure of 36/47 to 35/48. Will you please build up a box to BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /TWD. {T. W. D’Aeith} 3/E.15.2.33. but with the constant mesh gear altered as per the attached blueprints.
