B-10-DG. Mr. Thompson.

The following is a complete list of this customer's complaints :-

(1) Ineffective brakes after washing.
We will supply you with a set of water excluders for the front brakes. Will you please block up the drain holes in the rear drums at the same time. A dust cover is rubbing on the nearside rear brake.

(2) The man who delivered the car noticed a suspicious noise in the gearbox but this disappeared before he handed the car over. It has since re-appeared intermittently. Will you therefore please examine the box to see if you can locate the cause of the trouble. Apparently it sounds as if a bit of metal had possibly been chipped off the synchromesh box and got into the third speed teeth.

(3) Clutch. This squeals badly on engagement when changing gear. Will the gearbox is removed will you please examine this. It also appears to have worn rather rapidly.

(4) The steering column should be lifted as far as it can be, allowing adequate clearance between the column and instrument board.

(5) Tinniness of the exhaust. The intermediate expansion box should be lagged. This is now being carried out on production but on 'D' series cars there is rather less clearance. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Whyman, however, will show exactly how this can be done. The object of this modification is to overcome this complaint of tinniness.

(6) The under-tray under the gearbox fouls on a bridge near the owner's house. Will you please ensure that there is the maximum ground clearance at this point consistent with clearance between this under-tray and the unit. At the same time, will you please examine the rear cross members, brake levers, etc. as the owner has been completely bogged with the car. You will observe that the petrol tank has been dented. This should not have attention unless in your opinion it is likely to leak at some future date.
