To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Bentley Publicity. Thanks for Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/RH.{R. Hollingworth}5.2.41, together with the article written by Pomeroy in the Motor, on the Bentley V and Corniche. This, I agree, is very good. I had not seen it previously as I do not normally see the Motor. As requested, I am returning the cutting. I have noticed the correspondence in the Autocar and thought it very good, and assume it was the result of the suggestion you made some months ago. I see there is another letter in last week's Autocar from'Roalyot'. With regard to the London Trials car, I am very interested to note that you find what London have been saying for a long time about this car was correct. I think that whilst it is perhaps being 'wise after the event' it is a pity that you did not insist originally on having these cars up for final test and approval before they were put into use. There were only a very few of them, and additionally they were of course the first of a new type. Then again, I think that when London reported what customers were saying about the car, it is a pity we did not ask them to send it up here. I am asking London if they can find a good photograph of Hall's car in the Tourist Trophy races, and if so to let you have it. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
