X32B To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c.F. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/HP.14.9.33. Jack Pad on Rear Spring - B.4. As there seems to be some difference of opinion in Experimental Department as to the best position for the Jack Pad, we have made an alternative scheme (N. Sch. 3823) in which the arrangement shewn on N. Sch. 3820 is adapted to be attached to the outer clip on the spring instead of the inner one. This has the effect of bringing the pad some 3" to the rear and enables the jack to be put in from the side. it also increases the lost movement. It is intended that both schemes shall be made, and the most effective chosen. The jack head now standard is used in this case as it is said to be suitable, but another one may be devised asa result of experience. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
