-3- -Cont'd- CROSS STEERING TUBE AND BALL PINS. The near side cross tube was slightly bent, this has been straightened, also the near side Ball Pin was damaged on the thread this has been replaced by a new one. Piece No.FW.1903. All the remaining Ball Pins have been dismantled and the oil ways cleared and re-assembled. RADIATOR. The near side lamp and wing stay bracket was bent, this has been straightened. New Bottom Water Pipe fitted, the original hose was scrapped when removed. Radiator tested for leaks O.K. FRONT HUBS. Both Front Hubs dismantled, bearings examined and found O.K., and re-assembled. FRONT BRAKES. Both drums badly scored, and the shoes are worn nearly to the rivets, (nothing replaced). Two new Lockheed brake pipes fitted to fronts. Piece No. 1255/4. The original ones unfit for further service. REAR BRAKES. Both hubs dismantled for checking expanders these were cleaned and greased and replaced, no new parts fitted, all shoes nearing rivets, condition of drum only fair. ENGINE. New Air Silencer stay made and fitted. Sparking Plugs cleaned and re-set .025 Distributor contact points trimmed up and re-set .018. Carburetter removed and completely dismantled, all jets and passages cleared of pool petrol sludge. This was exceptionally badly choked up. -continued- | ||
