Front Suspension (Cont'd) it was decided to reject this lever, and fit two new levers of modified type. Piece No. FW.2060/1. The near side Triangle Bearing Pin was bent and badly worn due to a broken Bijur pipe. This was replaced. Piece No.FB.3072, complete with needle bearings and housing. Piece No. GW.800. The off side bearings were rusted up solid through lack of oil due to broken Bijur pipe, these have been cleaned up and re-fitted, no new parts being used other than new Felt Washer. New Bijur pipe made and fitted on both sides from Torque Arm to Triangle Lever bearings. Both braided flexible pipes to the Pivots broken and badly frayed. These have been replaced by two new coiled brass pipes. New steel backed Felt Washers fitted to both pivots. Piece No.GW.1960. The Support Bracket carrying Triangle Levers in front pan was badly worn and nearly cut through, this has been replaced with a new one. FW.1879. Both Yokes and Triangle Levers fitted with new Silentbloc Bushes. Yoke Piece No.FB.3143. Triangle Lever E.2130. Two new spherical bearing bushes fitted to Torque Arms. Piece No.FB.3650. FRONT DAMPERS. The side levers in both dampers were found badly worn at the side of the bosses carrying Silentbloc. These were removed and levers from a pair of dampers taken off 2.B.50 fitted. The only other replacement being new Oil Seals to both dampers. Piece No. 17514 and 1751. STEERING. Removed from frame and completely dismantled, examined and found O.K. and in very good condition throughout. A new horn wire was fitted, the original being badly frayed and oil soaked and not fit for further service. -continued- | ||
