EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} JC.115. 19.7.28. FAILURE OF P & R CELL IN S4 BATTERY (157) No.6 cell in this battery has failed after 3 years 1 month service. It has run 31,051 miles on the road and has been on our bench life test for 12 months. The failure was due to the stretching of the positive plates and shorting on the negative bar, as in the case of the cells from S1 and SY batteries, as reported in JC.109 27.6.28. The plates and separators were in very much the same condition. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} /G.Johnson. | ||
