To E.H. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X.3097 R3/B29.6.17. X.3104 - RE EAGLE ENGINES FOR SEAPLANES X.3097 By13/G26617. Regarding the power of the Eagles for the flying boats, I should send the engine exactly as we have obtained the 360 HP. If it gives any trouble and will not stand up to the work, then the compression may have to be reduced. I do not think it will be found satisfactory to reduce the size of the throat of the carburetter. In any such case there is nothing like a practical trial on the actual machine, at the earliest possible moment. R.R. 256 (B) 350 H (S.D.) 442. 9-8-17.
