To BY/Mtn.. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}23/N.14.12.38. With reference to your memo BY/Mtnl/G.10.11.38, re my memo of the 9th. The spirit used should have read National N Benzol mixture. I did not mean pure Benzolene. To our enquiry they replied Benzolene, and writing my memo straight from the telephone call, it did not strike me that my expression would be taken as meaning pure Benzolene. Sorry for the mistake. With regard to mixing Discol and Coaline, this is done due to the owner running on one or the other, then filling up with the other spirit before the tank is empty, with the result as stated. We have had about four cases of this happening with the trouble explained. We are also experiencing trouble with petrol filters being choked due to cylinder top lubrication mixtures being put into petrol. It looks like graphite on the filters. I trust this will clear up the misunderstanding. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} P.S. K.{Mr Kilner} want the body of the carburetter returning as it is a new one and is good stock when cleaned. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
