X.3563 To Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " " Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} " " By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} R9/G4.2.20. X.3431. X.3763. X.3565. X.3563. - RE PRESENT 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. With reference to the present 40/50 H.P., if we use the thermostat as arranged, we do not need thermometers, which appear to be rather unsatisfactory, both as regards fitting and remaining in permanently good order; the one on 1.EX has stopped. X.3908. As regards smoke in the body, I notice that it is highly desirable that the breather should be capable of blowing the fumes from the crankchamber outside the undershield or behind the holes for the pedals.
