COPY. R'vd from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1263 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/E.4.11.36. Re Petrol Pumps. I am sorry to see from E.3/HP.3.11.36 that the entirely separate pump scheme cannot be recommended Two single pumps with separate wiring and switch would certainly be better than what we have got and is, as you say, very much what we have been asking for, for several months. As regards Ph.III, I certainly feel that it ought to have something better than what it has got at present. Perhaps it could have three single pumps, any two of which would run the car. I shall be at Derby next week and we can discuss this matter further and decide definitely what to do. Whilst on the subject of petrol pumps, there is another point that I want to raise and that is that you have taken action to make the mounting and dismounting of a petrol pump more reasonable on a Bentley, but what about the 25/30 and Ph.III please ?
