-2- Action 7 Slash pockets in rear doors It was agreed no action required. 8 Parcel or map tray below cubby hole It was agreed no action required. A warning was given that the picnic tray in the front compartment would be eliminated in January 1961 by the introduction of the Texas duct to give improved ventilation. 9 Lever to operate scuttle ventilators It was agreed to provide this feature at no extra charge to the customer. The existing vanes with a matt finish are to be retained in the ventilators except that the centre vane is to be thickened locally to accommodate a spindle for the handle. The handle to design number RBS 2089 was accepted for the operation of the ventilator vanes. This feature together with modifications to the casing to improve the engagement of the vane lugs with the connecting link was to be instructed on production as soon as possible. The extra cost of fitting the lever to design RBS 2089 was quoted at 5/11d with an additional tooling cost of £620. VS{J. Vickers} JPB Kgt 10 Brighter illumination of instruments It was agreed to delete the resistance in the instrument light switch and replace the rheostat switch with a three-position switch. It was agreed that this feature was to be instructed on production as soon as possible. No cost comparison has yet been undertaken. 10a Illuminated socket for cigar lighter VS{J. Vickers}/RD was to obtain samples of illuminated bezels and sockets and these were to be incorporated in an experimental car for inspection. VS{J. Vickers}/RD and Kgt 11 Cover for spare wheel The cover to design RBS 1903 and the cover as fitted to Dor{Mr Dorey}'s car were compared and it was agreed that the Dzus fasteners were to be replaced by pull-out fasteners as on Dor{Mr Dorey}'s car. The prime cost of the cover to RBS 1903 was quoted at £1 3 4d with an additional tooling charge of £1,000. LS was to inspect the revised design of cover fitted to an experimental car and if it, and its cost, were satisfactory it was to be instructed as a standard fitting for the Motor Show 1960 at no extra charge to the customer. 12 Illuminated gearshift quadrant It was agreed no action on the present model. 13 Handbrake light VS{J. Vickers}/RD is to investigate the provision of this feature as an illuminated dial on the secondary board above the steering column.
