RE TESTING OF SPORTS NO.1 IN U.S.

Each winter the question of the great desirability, from the American Company's point of view, of testing any new part in the United States under winter conditions there with the usual supplies of gasoline and oil available there, is raised.

It has been suggested that Mr.Rowbotham should take one of the Sports No.1 cars over there as early as possible in February when conditions should be representative of the usual winter. It seems to us that this scheme would be of considerable advantage to both companies, and especially if Derby are to manufacture parts for us in the near future.

It would enable us to arrive at an agreement on such questions as carburation, piston knocks, gear noise, finish, and many other points on which opinions differ at times. The Experimental Dept. would also obtain a knowledge of our conditions which they cannot obtain in any other way, and a feeling of sympathy between the two plants would be unconsciously developed which must be to our mutual advantage.
