X. 7350 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/1/31.3.26. EAC.7. REAR AXLE. Replying to your BY/C6/G26.3.26., we send herewith N.sch.2171 shewing how we suggest the points raised should be dealt with. We had contemplated doing this scalloping out in the first case, but at the time thought we would try it with plain flanges. It will be seen that moving the bolts through 22 1/2° deals with the bolt difficulty, and the scalloping out deals with the difficulty with the flanges when the levers are transferred to suit the present brake gear. These alterations apply to N.sch.2149/50., as well as N.sch.2160 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
