Messrs. The Dunlop Rubber Co.,
Aston Cross,
Birmingham

20th. Dec. 1920.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. W. Bond.

Further to our letter Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/TMWl/LG of the 18th. inst. These tyres have had a good run over miscellaneous roads this week-end and what we consider a very bad feature has been shown up. We refer to small pebbles and sharp bits of flint being held in the "V" slats as sketch herewith. We picked up several of these and our opinion is that unless these are constantly watched and removed, it would very soon seriously damage the Tyre.
We suggest you might like to send a man over to study this feature which we believe must have a serious effect on the wearing life of the tyre.

Yours faithfully,

P. S. Since writing the above, we have been in telephonic communication with Mr. Bond and we will send the Experimental Car down tomorrow morning the first thing, when the above point can be examined.

TMW.
