NITRO ALLOY CRANKSHAFTS.

The results of the Nitro Alloy crankshaft on the 'P' engine is very encouraging and we think that the advantages of it would be more than ever apparent on our cars. That is, it would considerably reduce wear on bearings and the maintenance costs, and possibly a lot of our free-of-charge work caused by over-oiling due to excessive wear on bearings.

Now that we have stiffened our crankshaft considerably the stresses are quite low and therefore the risk, if any, of using Nitro Alloy is greatly reduced.

We propose therefore, to run a Nitro Alloy crankshaft in the Phantom II 10,000 mile test which we expect to start in about three or four weeks time. We should like to run in conjunction with this the [obscured] bearings made in HL's aluminium zinc alloy.

Will you please issue the necessary instructions.

We should like these for the 20 HP. as well as the Phantom II.
