( 3 ) STEERING. 12. Left Lock Stop Broken off in Ex.30857. BZ/A Box. Several remedies are apparent. a) Strengthen stops by improving their shape. b) Strengthen stops by using different material and improving their shape. c) Reducing the lock by larger stops on the axle so that the stops in the box cannot be reached. d) Raising the steering ratio so the stops cannot be reached. e) Reducing the sponge so that the stops cannot be reached. This would require modified steering tube joints. It is quite apparent that (a) or (b) are the only acceptable methods. 13) Column shake. There is room for improvement here although it is not really bad to previous standards. Investigation has been called for. SUSPENSION. 14) Hitting Buffers on very bad Roads. This is worst in front. We hope to try longer front buffers already called for and tested on 9.B.V. 15) Creaks from Rear Spring Interleaving. After a spell of really dry weather, these went off directly wet weather occurred and have not happened again. Very much less likely to occur under English conditions. 16) Squeaks from offside Lower Suspension Lever against Centre Silentbloc Bracket. The nearside is correct i.e. the silentbloc is central. The trouble would appear to be a manufactury error. We have lengthened the diagonal stay to try and centralise the offside silentbloc. We have also noted that the silent- blocs at the top of the yokes have gone right forward. | ||
