Title. Rec. L.&.E.P.
Auto Oil Filter. 5202 E.80670. It was agreed this is a matter for the Experimental Test, which department will deal with the question. Oy. was satisfied that the type of filter proposed for adoption would be satisfactory from the cold oil point of view.
OY. STATES:
(A-F) Possible effect with oil cold. Facility of replacement.

Oil Level Indicator. 5204 E.79004. Not previously mentioned, but was agreed that this should be calibrated in U.S. quarts, on same principle as agreed change to petrol tank indicator.
OY. STATES:
(A-F) U.S. quarts.

Exhaust Fittings. 5230 E.90644. Oy. stated that America had found improvement by making nuts and bolts of the exhaust manifold, etc. of Carpenter ? Zirconium Sulphide non-corrosive steel. It was agreed that this cannot be written into specification for 200 order, but Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} and Experimental Department will consider further with a view to experiment.
OY. STATES:
(H). Non-corrosive Bolts and Nuts.

Controls. 5240 E.80671. Oy. pointed out that it was a tedious process to oil all the small joints of controls and brake mechanism and similar parts by oil can, and suggested that all these joints be cadmium-plated and the instruction to oil be left out of the book. It was not agreed that cadmium-plating would be an efficient substitute for oiling, and it was not advisable to leave out the oiling instruction from the book. It was pointed out that the joints do not fail if they are not oiled, but they will last longer, and be more satisfactory if they are oiled. This matter will be referred to our Experimental Dept. for consideration.

(N). Cadmium Plating joints throughout chassis.
