| - 6 - Title. Sec. L.O.P. Crankcase & Bearings. Contd....... 5000 E.79019. projected on to the engaging side of the gear teeth unless the jet was moved to a suitable position. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} noted this for attention. The Auto-Kleen Oil Filter will be mounted suitably on the Left Hand Chassis for 10,000 miles test. Carburetter. 5080 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Verrey Conference says: "We now have a carburetter to which America could fit an Air Cleaner". This, however, is a single intake adapted both as an air cleaner and an intake silencer. Cy.stated this would be satisfactory for 200 order, but suggested tests to ascertain its value as a cleaner. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} undertook to make such tests. OY. STATES: (A) Single Intake. Type of Air Cleaner. Extra Cyl. 5130 E.80663. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} stated that the first chassis had been tested as far as this item is concerned, and that he is satisfied it is 100%. Tests in France will prove out whether the extra lubrication at starting is all that is desired. Lubrication. OY. STATES: (A) Test effect at starting, etc. Water Pump. 5160 E.79093. Cy. asked if we could arrange to leave the grease lubricator off the water pump for the 200 chassis. This is the only lubricator on the car which requires grease, and therefore Cy. is desirous of having the instruction removed from the Instruction Book. It was agreed - (1) to put this item into the category of an experiment, and - (2) to remove the lubricator from the water pump on the chassis going to France for 10,000 miles test. Results of this test will be watched, after which the matter will be further discussed. OY. STATES: (N) G.S.L. to Water Pump. G'case & 5180 E.79859. It was agreed provision should be made for this.
