Re: Contact Breaker Points on Standard Magnetos It is a coincidence that we should have received your memo EFC5/AD.24/10/29 at the moment when we were experiencing some trouble with the magneto on Mr. Dubonnet's car. Some time ago he complained that the magneto platinum points had prematurely burnt out, and in order to satisfy him, we changed the magneto, as it was a comparatively new car, chassis 7-AL. A few days ago, he again called and said that the platinum points on his new magneto had burnt out prematurely, and we supplied him with a new pair free of cost, as these have only been in service for 3 1/2 months. We are returning them to you for an examination, and we shall be glad to know if our action in supplying these parts free of cost in similar instances is in order, and if we may debit you with the replacement. RRHld This appears to be the only instance where we have received a definite complaint from a customer, but I am under the impression that we have been called upon to supply platinum points which have not given the service one would expect.
