Mr. A.F. Sidgreaves,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
14 Conduit Street,
London, W-1, England. Re: Service of Derby-Built Cars in America.

Dear Mr. Sidgreaves:-

We have carefully considered the points brought out in your letter of January 8th, Reference Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}22/E8.1.31, in reppect of the above subjectZ.

We believe that upon further consideration you will agree that unlike your other Overseas Agents or Dealers importing Derby-made chassis, we have a fairly complete set-up in the way of Service Depots and organization in connection with our Retail Sales Offices.

The heads of these Service Depots have all been trained at Derby or at Springfield. In addition, to these we have Messrs. Burton, Purdon, Steel, Spencer, Ingham, Dickinson, Caswell, on the manufacture of spare parts and continuing assembly and test of the P-1 chassis.

We not only have available for study to complete under-standing the drawings and supervision sheets, but we have many P-2 parts. In addition, we received P-2 chassis, 69 WJ, more than 18 months ago, which was used for the purpose of examination and familiarizing our men with performance and details.

Since then we have received a considerable number of P-2 chassis which customers have purchased in England and in Framce and brought to America, and our Service Depots - particularly at Springfield, New York, Boston and Philadelphia - have had to deal with them.

During the more than eleven years of Rolls-Royce in America we have had to deal with Derby-made chassis, first the right-hand Silver Ghost without front brakes and thenthe right hand Silver Ghost with front brakes and other alterations, and the 20 HP chassis. Then the Phantom I and now thePhantom II and the 20/25 HP chassis.
