R.R. 199 (250T) (SD676 19-7-17) MP180865 X3596 sn.{Mr Sanderson} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. EB. BY/C18/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 30.11.22. RECEIVED DEC 11 1922 GOSHAWK II. PETROL GAUGE. Referring to D/Snl/CH. 30.11.22. Please note that as far as Goshawk II is concerned we cannot agree to marking dials both "gallons" and "litres" as the figures would have to be too small to be of any practical use, therefore we have arranged to fit dials marked in litres for chassis going on the Continent. With reference to the 40/50. HP. Chassis, the instrument that has now been standardized is known as the "Telegauge" and which can reasonably be fitted with dials marked in both "gallons" and "litres", as it is a comparatively large dial. We are getting the makers of this instrument to visit these Works to discuss one or two points, and it will then be decided whether the instruments shall be made standard marked in "gallons" & "litres" or whether they will supply instruments marked in "litres" as required for chassis going on the Continent.
