to Eg. from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} WMP. HR INDIA 3. X5430 ORIGINAL EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/18.7.28. X5830 RE BARKERLITE COUPE FOR MR. ROYCE. This is to confirm our message to you this morning by phone, to the effect that, since Messrs Barker and Co. have not fulfilled their contract to supply the body by the date specified in the Specification, we shall have no need for it. The chassis will go on test without it. We do not agree that we have caused any delay. Only a few days ago we were informed that there would be no difficulty in keeping the date fixed. See note from CWB. We are at a loss to know why the circumstances have changed. We have informed Mr. Royce that we have suggested to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that 10.0.J. should be brought to W.W. before July 28th. In view of the fact that Mr Royce says that no more time is to be wasted in connection with this body, the writer will not be coming to London tomorrow. We understand that Mr Royce is visiting Town tomorrow and intends to go to Barkers to see 29CL, when he will no doubt discuss this subject also. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
