"Miss England 11" at Detroit. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Sept.6th. - On the second lap the starb. water outlet thermometer broke, but the temperature was controlled satisfactorily.
The engines ran smoothly and no trouble was experienced at all. Running time 35 mins. 15 mins. at F.T.
Boost 10.5 lbs/sq.in. at 2800-50 RPM.
Oil pressure 80 lbs/sq.in.
Oil temp. reached 120°C. but did not exceed this.
Oil cons. 8 galls. Petrol 90 galls.

Everything was checked, bores inspected, filters cleaned etc. New 675 plugs were fitted. Lock plates on prop. changed and new rudder pin fitted. Relief valve springs strengthened.

Sept.7th. - The same procedure for the start of the second race was adopted: the boat overturned one minute from the start after running for 6 mins: 1 min. at F.T.

Sept.8th. - The boat was Salvaged - engines drained, filled with oil and prepared for despatch to Toronto on Sept.9th.
