-3- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GHL.2/KT.4.5.33. (2) Springing. Complaints reduced 50%. The remaining are easily dealt with by increasing the hydraulic damper loads, complaints being chiefly due to too soft springing allowing the car to roll. (3) Exhaust Blows. Very few complaints, mostly all reported are with cars three or four years old (4) Clutch Slipping. This has been completely cured on the 25 HP. by the giving of more clearance to the pressure plate serrations. (5) Brakes Seizing. This has been caused by the too close setting of the rear brakes on the 25 HP. This caused the shoes to just catch due to the movement of the axle. Heating up of the shoes was the result, the expansion causing the brakes to seize. The initial setting has been increased which definitely overcomes the trouble. (6) Steering wobbles and joggles. The Continental cars are practically free from any of the above troubles. The standard Phantoms are giving very little trouble. (7) Petrol Gauges. The Smith electrical petrol gauge, although not altogether free from trouble, is a considerable improvement. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W.
