Abandoning the use of liners with aluminium pistons in low compression engines.

-2- 2) ALUMINIUM PISTONS. Mr. Hives suggested that it would be better, now that we are sure of our policy, to abandon the liner which is used under the Cylinders with the low compression engines. The Liner was introduced to bring the then existing low compression engine lower, and it was thought desirable until we knew more about results of these, to maintain the liner, rather than alter pistons right away. The Conference are of the opinion we should now dispense with the liner, in accordance with Mr.Hives' suggestion, and have a piston for both types of compression, which would not require a liner. ------------------- | ||
