(sheet 2) Drilled Holes, Reamed Holes, Plug Gauges. Suitable instructions are being circulated to enforce the use of fractional sizes in future so that standard tools may be purchased. In addition to the above work a notice covering design and detail instructions - E.2/HP.13.2.37 has been circulated to the Design department regulating R.R. practice in other sections of the work. The Standards committee are now working on the following items:- R.R. limits and tolerances for different fits and classes of work. Ball Pins. Pull Rods. Jaws. Shackle Pins. Control Levers. Pins with, and without, heads. Washers. WRAITH CHASSIS. The whole of the design and detail work in connection with Wraith is being revised to bring it fully up-to-date, and in line with Rolls-Royce standards, and latest recommended design practice, so that thischassis will start off with a clean sheet on production. This work is being done in conjunction with the Standards committee so that first hand knowledge will be obtained of how any new or revised standards work out in practice. At the same time as this standards revision is being done the question of using existing Phantom III or Bentley parts on Wraith is being investigated by the Production office, and consideration will be given to bringing any such parts into line with the standards wherever possible.
