We recommend we take out a patent to cover the following -

On any car fitted with controllable dampers whether operated by hand or by governor, there is a grave risk that if the car is run along with the dampers in the minimum position and the brakes are suddenly applied, the car will 'jazz' and not hold the road so that the maximum braking cannot be obtained. We recommend we cover a scheme that when the brakes are applied maximum damping is obtained. We think we should try and cover this both for hydraulic and friction dampers.
