Re Bentley 10,000 Miles Test - 4-B-IV.

Referring to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}19/E.2.7.34.

The 10,000 miles test has confirmed that the new brake lining wears more rapidly than the standard material.

Working with the manufacturers we have fitted to the car linings which we hope will retain the desirable characteristics of FB4A and give greatly improved wear.

We consider that it is worth while fitting the FB4A lining to some of the Trials cars. This will tell us whether it overcomes the complaint of inefficient brakes when wet and also brake jaggers. Under Trials car conditions we think the lining will last at least 10,000 miles, in customers' hands considerably more than this.
