- 22 - HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}1/VS.{J. Vickers}23.9.37. Side Steering Tube LOP.F.87178. Rear End Ball Joint and Spherical Joints have been fouling the Mud Excluder F.60086. Dashbrackets and Floorboards LOP.F.87717. Clutch pedal stop F.89224 was inadequate, as the pedal had been fouling the Front Floorboard. The Floorboards were in a reasonably good condition. The adhesion of the rubber was good; the boards were distorted and a patch of rubber had worn through by the driver's right foot. The Kansas Snubber tape for Bonnet Angles is definitely unsuitable for Alum. Bonnets, excessive wear having taken place. (We condemned this Fabric on 26.G.VI.) Grease had leaked from the Wind Screen Wiper Motor Gearbox. Bonnet LOP.E.87195. E.86898. Rest Angle in Alum. was broken on the bend above the two bolts which hold it to the Dash. The Alum. Bracket is now superseded by a Steel Bracket. Bonnet fasteners were loose on the side strips due to wear and failure of the rivets. Slight wear had occurred at the Bonnet Fasteners; this condition was aggravated by the Bonnet riding on the scuttle at several points. Water Connections LOP.E.88907. Condition satisfactory. The Radiator Filter Gauze was free from foreign matter. The Rubber Connections were in good condition. Oil Pump on Dash. Condition good, except for the oil around the Breather. continued. | ||
